On every matchday our home pub—Mad Dog in the Fog on Haight Street—erupts into a living mosaic of Blaugrana colors: banners drape the walls, scarves whirl overhead, and the rallying cry of “Visca el Barça!” surges out onto the street like a transatlantic echo from Camp Nou. Seasoned culés, curious newcomers, and traveling supporters are embraced as family the instant they step through the door, sharing pintxos, stories, and an unwavering devotion to the beautiful game. We revel together in every silken pass, dazzling build-up, and net-rustling strike, our cheers rising in unison until the final whistle leaves the room glowing with shared triumph. Penya Barcelonista San Francisco – Matchday Code of Conduct
Our goal is to create a spirited, welcoming atmosphere worthy of both San Francisco and Barcelona. By joining our gatherings, you agree to uphold the standards below so everyone can share in the magic of Barça football.
1. Respectful Support
Cheer, sing, wave scarves, and celebrate loudly—but always treat fellow guests and staff with courtesy.
Harassment of any kind (sexist, racist, homophobic, or otherwise abusive language, gestures, or behavior) is strictly prohibited.
Fighting, throwing objects, or any other disorderly conduct will not be tolerated.
2. Safety & Venue Cooperation
Follow all instructions from bar/restaurant staff, including any emergency procedures.
Keep aisles and exits clear so everyone can move freely and safely.
3. Responsible Alcohol Consumption
Alcohol may be consumed only by those of legal drinking age.
Please enjoy responsibly and in moderation—know your limits and look out for friends.
4. “See Something, Say Something”
If you witness behavior that violates this Code, notify a Penya board member or venue staff immediately. Your voice helps keep our community safe and inclusive.
Consequences
Violations may result in removal from the event, termination of Penya membership, and/or a ban from future Penya activities at the discretion of the Board.
