Protecting Our Home – A Message to the SF Penya Family
Hola Culers,
First and foremost, thank you for being part of what has made these last two seasons so special. From early kickoffs to midweek fixtures, sharing our love for Barça with this community is something we never take for granted.
Our Penya has grown enormously over the past two years. While this growth is exciting, it requires us to step up as a board and as a community to protect the home we’ve built at Mad Dog in the Fog. This Penya has always aimed to be Més que una penya—we are a family. To keep it that way, we must reaffirm our commitment to mutual respect and the Matchday Code of Conduct. Great people have come and gone, some have moved away, and sadly, some are no longer with us, but they are never forgotten. Neither is this penya what it was always meant to be: a welcoming space for everyone.
Recent incidents have put our relationship with our host venue at risk. To keep it that way, we ask one thing — mutual respect. Respect for each other, for our hosts, and for the staff who take care of us. We're not here to tell you how to enjoy the game. But disrespect toward fellow penyaistas, our servers, or the venue will not be tolerated.
To ensure we can continue hosting these events, we are implementing the following immediate requirements:
Support the Venue: Absolutely no outside food or drink is permitted. We are guests at Mad Dog; please support the staff who open their doors early for us.
Close Your Tabs: Leaving without paying is theft and will not be tolerated. Moving forward, we support the venue's requirement that a credit card be used to start any tab.
Protect Our Minors: Underage drinking is a zero-tolerance issue. It jeopardizes the bar’s liquor license and our Penya’s reputation.
Respect the Staff: Our servers work incredibly hard during packed matches. Any disrespect toward them is a violation of our bylaws and will result in immediate removal.
We aren't here to tell you how to cheer, but we are here to ensure a safe, legal, and respectful environment. Those who can follow these simple rules—the "real" fans—are the ones who make this community great. Let’s keep it that way.
Visca el Barça!
